CRUDO RESIDENCIAS

CRUDO Residencies is the residency programme for national and international artists that since 2014 has been offered by CRUDO Arte Contemporáneo in the city of Rosario, Argentina.

Crudo Arte Contemporáneo was founded in 2012 with the aim of providing a space for artistic encounter, dialogue and experimentation, and to promote local artistic production in constant relationship and through the construction of links and networks with other actors in the national and international artistic field.

As of 2020, it is located in the centre of the city, on the premises of a 700m2 former bank. Its facilities include an exhibition hall, 10 artists’ workshops and a workshop for the exclusive use of residents. In this way the artists can work on their projects in constant dialogue and collaboration with the other artists who live in CRUDO.

During the residencies, talks, presentations and activities are organised in museums, at the National University of Rosario and other institutions linked to art and culture in the city. Specific activities are also programmed according to the interests of each artist and visits are made to local artists’ studios.

The relationship with the Paraná River and its islands located in front of the city, the cultural tradition and history of the city and its references, are fundamental to the residencies.

The experience ends with an open studio, where the developed project is shared with the community.
